Did you know that you can style one outfit in various ways to make it look new each time? Well if you are not too big on experimenting, you are actually limiting your options. From wearing a piece from various cultures to restyling old outfits like chiffon collection, there are so many ways to look great. I do it all and so I call myself the experimenting guru. You would often see me in my relaxed fit khakis even at work.
Here are some hacks that you can apply to look cooler than usual:
Layering
Layering is a smart way of looking cool. Imagine someone wearing a basic grey sweater with jeans. It is a good casual look no doubt, but not very interesting. Now add a plain white shirt under the sweater and boom! The difference is huge. The look becomes more interesting instantly.

You will notice a huge difference when you wear a belt. It will give you a neat and refined look. Pair such outfits with lowers that go best with the layers you are wearing. Wear boots with this outfit to give yourself a chic look. If you are still confused about how to layer different pieces of clothing, here is an example for you:
- Wear a turtle neck
- Toss a long fleece jacket and a wide belt
Not only does the layering technique works well in winter but in summer as well. The trick, however, is to know your layers well. Not everything goes with everything. You will have to be smart while making the choice of clothing pieces for your layers.
Knot a Button-Down Shirt
Knot your button-down shirt. This shirt style will work best with almost any lower that you decide to wear. However, the most popular choices include pairing the shirt with denim shorts, skinnies, or sports pants. I have observed men showing reluctance when it comes to wearing this style of shirt. I find it super cool on a casual day at the beach. If you tie a knot instead of leaving your button-down shirt as is, it will give you a polished look.

Now here’s the problem with this look. Many struggles to tie the perfect knot. The best way is to undo the bottom three buttons of your shirt. Hold the shirttails and make a knot out of them. It’s as simple as that. Do not forget to tighten your knot so that it sits exactly where you want it to.
Cuff the Jeans
A hack as simple as cuffing your jeans can give you an instant cool look. I am not saying that your jeans do not look good in their original form, but cuffing them can make them look better. Not to forget that you can show more of your rocking footwear in this way as well. The only trick here would be to choose the right technique based on the style of your pants/jeans.
When you wear skinny jeans, a cuff on the smaller side would look the best on it. Because a small cuff will align well with the streamlined look of the skinny jeans. Another way is to roll them but that looks better with straight jeans, as they are all about a casual vibe. And to keep that intact, you should roll them at least three times while making an inch-wide cuff each time.
Footwear
Time to cut back on the beat-up sneakers on a daily basis. These instantly ruin an otherwise excellent look. Replace them with loafers, or something more classy. If you think people don’t pay attention to your shoes, you are wrong! Women especially notice them instantly. For more casual options, you could go for desert boots also which look great in winter.
Add Variety Down Below
Jeans are no doubt great, but the look is most of the time the same. Remember that jeans aren’t your ONLY option. To add some variety invest in having one or a couple of chinos in your wardrobe. Get one pair in basic camel color or have one in grey. It will definitely change things up. Don’t go for fire-engine red or for that matter lime green. Chose subdued colors such as army green, or burgundy. That’s the maximum you can go with adding color to your legwear in a look. Another great option is black khaki pants. These never go out of fashion and look good with polo shirts, casual cotton shirts, and even graphic Ts.
Hope these tips were worth your time. The main thing is to keep it simple. You will see a lot of different looks on the ramp at various big fashion shows, but those will lead you astray. Not everyone can carry those looks. Your age, physique, style, and all these things must be considered while dressing up.
